VALUABLE POINTS IN PAUL RICARD

VALUABLE POINTS IN PAUL RICARD

The second round of the Fanatec GT World Endurance Cup took place last weekend at the Circuit du Castellet, better known as Paul Ricard. After 6 hours of racing and 1,000 km covered, Ezequiel Companc, Magnus Gustavsen and Alexey Nesov finished P5 in class and P22 overall.

The French weekend was not the one expected, but the Spanish team still scored some valuable points for the championship. Nevertheless, Ezequiel Companc ranked second in his qualifying, Alexey Nesov was the 8th fastest Silver driver in the race out of 30 drivers while Magnus Gustavsen managed his double stint smoothly. Once again, the Madpanda #90 crew did an excellent job, being always among the fastest pit-stops crews. Additionally, the engineers did a great strategy.

In the Fanatec Esports arena, Alexey Nesov could not score points this time. He got 30 kg of ballast for his victory in Monza, not to mention the BOP which was not in the Mercedes' advantage. After an eventful race, sim racer and driver Nesov finished P7 in Silver. He will certainly be back for the Spa event.

The team is now back in the workshop in Barcelona to prepare the car for the Big One. The biggest GT race in the world will take place on July 1 and 2.

Ezequiel Companc, team principal: “The drivers showed great maturity once again at Paul Ricard, with both managing to do double stints smoothly. From the team's side, the crew did top pitstops, together with a perfect race strategy from the engineers. We take the experience and the points, ahead of the most important race of the year. Looking forward to it!”
