MADPANDA MOTORSPORT DEBUTS IN PRO

A weekend with new challenges for the team as we entered the PRO category for the first-time racing in Fanatec GT World Challenge series. Joining Ezequiel Companc, we had local driver Alexander Sims as part of the Madpanda family just for the first event at Brands Hatch.

The Sprint Cup season opener started with some suspension issues that affected the running during Saturday’s sessions and thus influenced the weekend outcome.

Despite this, the team managed two good recoveries on Sunday thanks to the great performance from both of our drivers, great pit stops from the team and the strategy. The pace was impressive on both races and full of thrilling overtaking maneuvers by our drivers, gaining many positions on track. After some penalties, we ended up both races outside the points, but we gained massive experience and data to prepare for the next Sprint event.

Ezequiel Companc, team principal and driver: “It was a nice challenge for the team as we entered the PRO class. We have to adjust some stuff but it was a great effort from all the team during the weekend, topping it with amazing pitstops and getting the third fastest among all of the teams during the second race. I want to thank Alex for all the help as well. We focus on preparing for the next rounds now!”

Alexander Sims, driver: “I really enjoyed myself working with Madpanda. It was a bit of a challenge as it didn’t go how we wanted with the car issues that we only could find after the qualifying which clearly compromised the Saturday. Real credit to the whole team for working hard and continue trying to push and find the problems because it changed the car quite a lot, so it became more enjoyable to drive on the race. Great Pit Stops that moved us up on some positions.”

It was great to meet all our British fans. There were a lot of familiar faces from the previous years in the Fanatec GT. Thank you all for coming and for your warm support throughout the weekend. We will learn from this experience and come back stronger.
