END OF THE 2022 SEASON IN FRONT OF OUR HOME FANS

END OF THE 2022 SEASON IN FRONT OF OUR HOME FANS

The circuit of Barcelona Catalunya was hosting the final race of the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup. Madpanda Motorsport closes its 2022 season at home with an 11th place in class, 24th overall, coming back from zero.

The last race weekend of the year started with a heavy incident at the beginning of the meeting. As always, the team worked hard and did a great job to get the car fixed.

Starting from zero and with two hours less practice time than the other 47 cars, Sean Walkinshaw and Ezequiel Companc covered as many miles as possible on Saturday to qualify 10th in class, 27th overall.

Despite suffering from back pain, Sean managed his stint at the wheel of the #90 Mercedes AMG. Ezequiel did also two nice stints. As a reminder, only the two of them were sharing the car. They finished the race at the doors of the Top 10 Silver.

It was not the easiest season for the team but we will learn from it to get back stronger than ever in 2023. It is now time to rest and recharge the batteries to quickly focus on the plans for next season. Madpanda Motorsport would like to thank all its fans for their incredible support throughout the year and all the people who helped them. Focus on 2023.

Sean Walkinshaw, driver: "It was a tough weekend however it was nice to finish of the season crossing the chequered flag and overall this weekend was a positive step forward. I want to thank Ezequiel and the whole team for everything this season I’ve learnt a lot from them and they were always so welcoming!"

Ezequiel Companc, driver & team principal: "It was a pleasure to share the car with Sean throughout the Endurance Cup. The team did a solid job to pull out of very tricky situations. Let's focus on the 2023 season. We've got to work hard on what we've learned this year."
