5TH PLACE AT THE NÜRBURGRING

5TH PLACE AT THE NÜRBURGRING

Madpanda Motorsport has finished its best race ever in the ADAC GT Masters on the Nürburgring circuit. Starting from 14th place, the duo Companc - Götz did a brilliant second race to get the 5th position.

Started from the 7th row, Maximilian Götz, back in the Mercedes AMG Evo #90, made a strong first stint by bringing the car back to 6th position. Ezequiel Companc took advantage of the perfect pitstop made by his teammate and team, to come back on track one place ahead. After some great battles, the Argentinian driver crossed the line in 5th place of this highly competitive German championship.

A problem on Malena in Race 1 didn’t allow the duo to do better than 16th position. The crew worked hard to get the car ready for the last race of the weekend where the Panda drivers did a mega job.

A rather complicated start of the season which ends with two good weekends and a nice progression in both the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup and the ADAC GT Masters. Madpanda Motorsport gets off to a very good start for the second part of the year.

After more than 15 days on the tracks, the Spanish team is going back to Montmeló for a few days of rest. Malena and her crew will be back at the Lausitzring (Germany) for the Family and Friends Festival DEKRA on August 19-21, round 5 of the ADAC GT Masters.

Maximilian Götz, driver: "Happy with P5 coming from P14. We didn’t expect it but I had a very good start and gained a few positions on the first lap. It’s probably thanks to the experience I have at the Nürburgring. I did so many races here! After a problem on the car in Race 1, we had a good pace in Race 2, especially during the first stint! They are still things we need to analyse to be even more strong but I’m very happy for the guys that they get a really good result today! They deserved it, they worked so hard for it! It was a pleasure to drive for Madpanda Motorsport. I wish the team and Ezequiel good luck for the rest of the season!"

Ezequiel Companc, driver and team principal: "I want to thank the crew that did an amazing job all weekend, together with Max and the engineers; and especially our team manager, who pulled the team through these last two weeks of racing like a champ. We did another big step forward, and a 5th place finish in Race 2 is the perfect proof of the progress we are making. Looking forward to Lausitz!"
